Hello and Welcome!
It seems I was born with a soul encased in uncertainty. Even tipping the half century mark in life, I still possess a rather “deer in headlights” look, plagued with self-doubt, always second-guessing, “did I do the right thing? the wrong thing? Is God mad at me?”
Pictures of the little girl I once was remind me of dreams and hopes...okay, mostly fantasies (I was going to become famous after all). Life doesn’t always turn out the way we think it should. Duh.
The distance between childhood and today growing longer by the second; nonetheless, as long as I can remember, words, books, writing, pens and pencils have intrigued me. As a toddler, probably no more than three, I began doodling “letters” to my Granny Reed. After Granny passed, it was so touching to find she had kept some of my notes tucked away between tattered, smudged pages of her cookbook. Her transcription of my circles and squiggles brings tears as I imagine the two of us sitting at her kitchen table, as I explained, “Grandma this says, ‘I love you.’
Life lessons come whether we seek them or not and I’ve come to believe life is a testing ground, a boot camp for learning—and tears can be most powerful teachers.
Growing older has made me realize the incredible value of a day, a moment, each gift of time. I have learned to embrace and not take for granted the incredible family and friends who surround me with love for all times. I have even learned there is purpose in love that lasts for only a season.
While there are still things of which I am uncertain, this I do know: God IS and always will be unchangeable, unmovable….a ROCK and a REFUGE. |

God’s grace and abiding presence never give up on us—never. Given the number of times I’ve given up on myself, my finite mind has a hard time wrapping itself around that truth. That God, Who never sleeps nor slumbers, Who created the universe, knows the number of my days, the hairs on my head, my needs before I speak—WOW, talk about security. You can’t turn a corner if you’re always going in circles, yet God is in the circles too.
Well, I didn’t become famous, but God ordained many blessings in the number of my days. I hope He will use the stories shared here to bring glory to Himself and encouragement to others.
THANK YOU FOR VISITING!
